#1959 TRIUMPH TR3A VALUE FULL#
This is a nice car for its age and an excellent base for a full restoration or just to do the basics and drive as is. Tires are new, although several years old, but show no signs of cracking, so it’s up to the new owner to decide what you want to do. These unbolt, so replacement should not be that difficult or you can repair the ones on the car if you want to. I was going to replace the front and rear wings/fenders, as the front one has a split in it and the rear shows signs of filler.

The needle has come off the rev counter and this needs to be disassembled and reattached. Now for the things that I know need looking at. The engine starts and runs with a good oil pressure, fifty pounds pressure at idle, shown in pictures. The car has a very sound chassis, bottom seals under doors are sound, as are the openings around both doors, a known weak point on these cars. Also included are a small amount of spare parts I had started to gather, ready for the start of the restoration, along with books bought detailing a full restoration of the car. Since then all the upholstery, carpets and door cards have been renewed and are shown in the pictures of the car. The owner, a doctor from Nevada, owned the car for many years and I have documentation of work he had done on the car during this time. She told me how she remembered riding in the car as a child, and of all the good times she had.

I bought the car from a lady who inherited it from the estate of a loved relative. As I improved in health I thought it was time to resurrect my project but, unfortunately, my cancer problems returned, and after undergoing a long and very tiring additional round of treatments it’s time to admit that I no longer have the energy required to undertake this project. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing the car, I was diagnosed with cancer so any restoration work was put on hold while I underwent treatment. Please note this car is titled as a 1960.Hi I am selling my 1960 Triumph TR3 which I bought with the sole idea of completing a full restoration.Offered in ready to enjoy condition, this little TR3A should prove great fun over the summer months. Close examination of the car reveals a thorough restoration done with a good degree of skill.Ī strong running car with healthy appearance it has been owned by a marque specialist for the last several years. The interior is neatly appointed in a darker blue, with contrasting white piping. Finished in a classic light blue, the car is elegantly fitted with chrome wire-wheels mounted with period looking white-wall tires. It appears every area of the car was attended to interior, top, exterior paint, chassis and engine compartment. A comprehensive restoration was performed about 10 years ago. A left hand drive example, this Triumph was most likely delivered new to the US. Offered here is wonderful example of the TR3A model.

Today these charismatic Triumph sports cars remain popular for their usability, ease of maintenance, good looks and the fact that they are immense fun to drive.

#1959 TRIUMPH TR3A VALUE PLUS#
The TR3A was introduced during 1957, with cosmetic changes including new front-end styling featuring a full-width grille incorporating sidelights/indicators, and locking door and trunk handles plus an improved interior. The engine developed 100bhp courtesy of a new cylinder head by mid-1956 then in August, Girling front disc brakes were introduced. Changes to the 2.0-liter engine boosted power from 90 to 95bhp, but the most obvious difference was the adoption of an 'egg box' radiator grille. Introduced in October 1955, the TR3 was, indeed, little different from the preceding TR2. An enormous success both at home and abroad, it was to be expected that its successor - the TR3 - would represent evolution rather than revolution. Lacking a sports car capable of competing with those of MG and Jaguar, Triumph started developing a new sports car, the TR2, which it displayed proudly at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1953. *Recipient of a thorough older restoration *A nicely restored and great driving example Front Independent Suspension Live Rear Axle
